Today in good old think and make

I know that I have not been posting lately and thats because I didn't know how difficult college really was...but hopefully I will get rolling with a schedule where I can do my work but still have fun. :)

But anyways, in class today we all figured out that drawing 320 sketches is a ridiculous task but you will end up getting a good product from the 20 or so sketches per parameter.

P.S.: Sorry Margie for falling asleep in class I didn't mean to do that. I just stayed up all night doing the process book that wasn't due today. haha

The IDEO Video

Summary:

The IDEO video of the re-designed shopping cart showed us that when a team based project arises to work together and collaborate on ideas. The ability to think out of the box was greatly used to try to make a re-designed product that’s good for the environment or any other innovative object that people need to use in their everyday lives. The IDEO people got the project of redesigning a shopping cart. The way the did that was to first they went into this thing called the “DEEP DIVE”, which means that the group of designers sits down and thinks of the most creative ways of changing this shopping cart. Once, they found the ideas they wanted to combine, the group split up into different groups concentrating on individual parts of the shopping cart. After, this prototypes where made of different combinations of ideas that were said in the “DEEP DIVE” process. Once, the group decides on using a prototype they start making the final product. The final product ended up having a slightly different body style with individual baskets in the actual body of the shopping cart. Also, on the side of the shopping cart there was a self-scanner so when you’re in line to check out you can scan your own items so it’s faster to check out.
