1-27-2011 Class

Ok so today in BDS 102 my group and others presented their Wayfindings...I guess... My opinion on that whole little presentation extravaganza was that the main dude running this project and his "assistant" do try to make their point but just keep running circles around the main point that was...was...well I don't really know...maybe it's wayfinding but maybe it's also around the point that we are all stupid design students and that we don't ever do anything right or follow the "directions"?... I don't know that's just what I got out of it.

1-25-2011 Class

How can I explain todays class? hmmm...well for starters im hypt on everyone in Linda's 11:30 am class HOORA!!! And I am hypt on my group that consists of Tyler Roste, Kristen Flick, Leslie Montes and myself. For our project we have decided have:

The Activity be going from the Art and Design building to the Park and Ride lot where the car is.
The Environment is either going to be the parking lot at Park and Ride.
The Individual is Shinji (shin-G) a foreign exchange student from Japan.
The Object is the parking lot it's self or the space where the car is parked.
The Understanding is the plan on how to get to the suggested car from the Art and Design building.

But for the man...how should I say it?...running? That works....running the project, all I got from his small lecture was:

1) Create a situation
2) Figure out the complex problems of the situation
and finally...
3) Make a representation of the situation with a solution that solves the complex problems under the initial situation.

So what does that conclude to?...me being really confused on why we weren't just doing work other than sitting there.

Actually let me take that back at least he did tell us that our situations should be relatively simple and he did kinda explain a little bit better what the A-E-I-O-U was so I guess it wasn't a complete waste of time.

On the other hand, to the man that I can't remember his name, Thank you for spending your time with the BDS classes and teaching us design skills from a different perspective.
